Alignment is the finish work of every sliding door repair — and sometimes the whole repair. Each roller has an adjustment screw that raises or lowers its corner of the panel. Set correctly, the panel hangs plumb, the gap along each edge (the reveal) is even top to bottom, and the latch meets the keeper dead center. Set wrong, even a door with brand-new parts scrapes, gaps, and refuses to lock.

Thermal and humidity movement changes the opening slightly across seasons. Setting the latch engagement to the middle of its range usually rides out the seasonal swing.
Can I align the door myself?
The adjusters are accessible (small screws at the bottom edge of the panel), but reading the reveal and keeper engagement correctly takes practice, and seized adjusters strip easily. If a careful quarter-turn at each corner does not fix it, stop and call — stripped adjusters complicate the repair.
